Due to its goal to make the students excel in their respective classes, both the elementary and high school students studying in Muntinlupa City’s public schools have attained the highest scores in the National Achievement Test implemented by the Department of Education’s National Education Testing and Research Center.

The city ranked number one with a score of 73.94 percent at the grade school level and again first place at the secondary category at a score of 58.84 percent.

The schools, which brought the said fame to the city, is the Cupang Elementary School Annex and the Muntinlupa Science High School.

Schools Division Superintendent Fe Faz said that the honor was reached by the said schools because of her policy of soliciting all school principals to work harder to create a niche for the division sector among other cities.

She said she makes it a point that seven days after each grading period, each principal should present a graphical file of mean percentage score of each subject to see the standing of their students against other sections or classes.

Teachers are grouped together to talk about the least mastered skill during each grading period’s school level meeting. The four grading periods mean four professional meets of the teachers together with a parent supervisor.

The ten least mastered skills of each classes are discussed during the gathering to identify the causes and draw up solutions to overcome the said problems until they are mastered.

Each grading period will then have a practice test to perfect the least mastered skill. Faz said teachers have target for each class and the students know the target score thus aiming hard to get it.

Faz said Mayor Jaime R. Fresnedi has been very supportive to their projects also because of his vision to improve the quality of education in the city.
